True Student | Glasgow

Summer 2017

True Student managing director (now a valued trustee of Next Steps Development) Marc Carter contacted us with an opportunity for our biggest job yet - to build and fit 200 pieces of bespoke furniture for a brand-new student accommodation development based in Glasgow.

This was a challenging job for everyone involved, but despite strict deadlines, changes to orders and massive logistical problems, our volunteers were successful in producing and delivering all 200 pieces of furniture on time and to the highest standard.

We have since been invited to visit the now completed site to give our workforce the opportunity to see how their hard work has become such a vital aspect of an exciting and busy environment.

Through working with True Student, we have forged a valuable connection that promises much more work to come!

D3 Events | Essex

March 2017

The job for D3 Events came about after we attended a trade fair at RHS Rosemoor Gardens, where we were handing out tea coasters with a goal to inform the public of our story.

Next Steps later received a phone call inviting us to get involved with a very exciting job. We were asked for a quote for a number of signs that were used for the lululemon Ambassador Summit!

This job presented our learners with a new experience to work on a large order and a fantastic opportunity to learn a valuable lesson in time management.

Everyone did an excellent job and needless to say, our signs went down a treat.

The Lantern Community Pre-School | Ilfracombe

Spring 2018

The Lantern Community Pre-School is situated directly behind one of our previous projects: The Lantern Café. It was through this connection that Next Steps Development was asked to provide a quote for another exciting opportunity.

The preschool had a derelict playground that they had sadly been unable to use for several years. So, using natural resources, our learners and volunteers replaced all fence panels, dismantled the old equipment and made the decking area a safe place to play.

This provided some of our more experienced learners with a great chance to manage a job alone from start to finish, with the final stage of the project being the building of an entirely new playground.

The Thatched Inn | Ilfracombe

Next Steps Development has also been working with The Thatched Inn, Ilfracombe to design and fit an outside decking and entertainment area.

Working on this project has been a massive opportunity for our learners to continue developing their skills working on-site, and and all involved have learned valuable lessons in planning and site management.

The Barn @ Kentisbury

Next Steps Development has been given the privilege of working on a barn conversion, this has been a wonderful opportunity for some of our trainee's to gain knowledge and skills away from the workshop environment and they have done a fantastic job.

Laser work on the signs took hours, but the result was worth the time spent working on them!
