About this department

On site we have a Training Kitchen which makes and prepares food for the Next Steps Workforce. We find that this environment is a great stating point for our trainees as it helps to build confidence.


You have the experience of cooking alongside a chef, learning new recipes and preparation techniques, you also deal with customers from taking orders to collecting money. This is all with the added bonus of the customers being people who are all from the Next Steps team. 

Some individuals may progress into the Nook Cafe where they would serve the public but we understand not all individuals would want to take this direction. The training kitchen can be seen as a stepping stone towards the café but it is also an integral part to the working day, those who work there help to feed the workforce.
